After enduring the extremely strange events in that arena, such as Saionji taking a rose-themed Duel Disk out of the introverted Anthy Himemiya's body, and the life-like quality of the holograms, she eventually managed to triumph over Saionji's warriors. Though she had kendo in mind when she issued the challenge, he instead proposed a game of Duel Monsters.Īnd so it was that Utena made her way up a spiral staircase to a giant ivory duel ring, above which hovered an upside-down castle. Naturally, this had irked Utena quite a bit, enough so that she stormed over to the kendo club to demand a match with Saionji. Much like a troll on the internet, he responded by pinning the letter up on one of the message boards, making fun of her in front of quite a bit of the male student body without being seen in public himself.

The poor girl had literally poured out her heart and soul into the letter that confessed her love towards him. Wakaba was publicly humiliated by the vice-president of the Student Council, the green-haired Kyoichi Saionji. What had happened to her yesterday, however, was anything but. Most of it was trivial, such as mere circumstance, or just plain bad luck. Wakaba was a good person, but bad things happened to her nearly all the time. The pinkette quietly sighed to herself as she remembered the events of the previous day. The very next morning, Utena entered her classroom (after being admired by the girls on the way) to find her friend Wakaba burying her face into a book. So, with that out of the way, the next post will start chapter two! Duels are harder to write than they look! I don't play the game all that often, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! wiki is unfortunately limited for what I want and need to write. Also, if there are any Yu-Gi-Oh! players in the audience who really know their way around the game, I would really appreciate the help.

So, here's what I'm going to do: I'll post what I have done in the second chapter (as far as completed scenes go) and let you take a look at 'em. I just haven't really had the time lately to make real progress on getting this done. That kind of leads me to why I'm posting this topic: I am working on a second chapter, but the work has been very sporadic. I'm just surprised that, of all four fics I've written, this is the one that's gotten recognition on TVTropes. Now, for those of you who are wondering, yes, I am the original author of the fic in question. Intrigued, I checked the Utena fanfic recommendation list and found it there as well. Well, I was cruising around TVTropes today when I stumbled across something very interesting in the fanfic recommendations list for the original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime/manga.
